I think I speak for everyone in the entire Washington D.C. metro area when I say “it’s about damn time”! NFL sources have just confirmed that Washington Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth has been traded to the New England Patriots. Pop the hood for the receipts.
Before Haynesworth could get to training camp and take his conditioning test, theWashington Redskins traded him to the New England Patriots for a fifth-round pick in 2013, according to league sources.
Haynesworth still will have to pass his physical in New England, as any player in any trade would. Washington believes it is ridding itself of a player it had no intention of bringing back to its team this season, while New England is getting added help along its defensive line for a reduced price.
The former Pro Bowl defensive tackle is scheduled to make $5 million this season.
So now the Redskins have traded both Haynesworth & quarterback Donovan McNabb, this is going to be a quite interesting football season here in D.C. However, this is great news for all Redskin fans.
The announcement was so huge that my homie EZ of “The EZStreet Show” on DC’s 93.9 is throwing a going away party at the station. *I think I may attend the festivities myself*
