Reports have just confirmed that a person has been stuck & killed after being hit by a Washington D.C. metro train. The investigation is currently ongoing & authorities believe the unidentified person intentionally committed suicide.
A person was struck and killed by a Metro train at the Takoma station on the Red Line Wednesday morning.
Rescue personnel and Metro Transit Police responded to the scene when the person was struck at 9:29 a.m. Metro spokesman Dan Stessel declined to say whether the victim was a man or woman.
Trains are single-tracking between Silver Spring and Takoma on the Red Line and some Red Line trains are turning back at Brookland Station to mitigate delays. Officials said to expect delays in both directions. It could be three hours before normal service is restored.
