If you live here in the Washington D.C. area most likely you are very familiar with the story behind 11-year-old William McQuain. I was praying it would not end this way but unfortunately, reports are confirming police have located the remains of the boy’s body in rural Maryland.
The Scoop:
Montgomery County police have found human remains they believe are those of 11-year-old William McQuain, who was last seen about two weeks ago.
The body was found Tuesday morning by a K-9 officer in a wooded area of the westbound shoulder of Route 121 near Route 355 in the Clarksburg area.
“We have found the remains of a body of a young male who we believe to be William McQuain,” Montgomery County Police Chief Thomas Manger said.
McQuain’s mother, Jane McQuain, 51, was found dead Wednesday in her Germantown apartment after a friend reported her missing. There was no sign of William, who lived with his mother.
Police arrested Curtis M. Lopez, McQuain’s estranged husband and charged him with murder. [source]
I’m so saddened…I’m not sure what would make a grown man kill his wife and her child. Just sad all the way around.
