It’s been three months this week since the unexpected death of Amy Whinehouse back on July 23rd. Months laster a London based coroner has finally determined what in fact killed Amy. Let’s just say Amy drunk herself to her very own death bed (alcohol poisoning).
LONDON — A coroner says Amy Winehouse died as the unintended consequence of drinking too much alcohol.
Coroner Suzanne Greenaway gave a verdict of “death by misadventure,” saying the singer had voluntarily consumed alcohol and risked the consequences.
The singer, who had fought drug and alcohol problems for years, was found dead in bed at her London home on July 23 at age 27.
A pathologist told the singer’s inquest Wednesday that Winehouse blood and urine samples had showed she consumed a “very large quantity of alcohol” and was more than five times over the legal drunk-driving limit when she died. [source]
Whoah! I don’t personally know the laws over in the UK but being that intoxicated here would get your a** a serious charge.
To put things into perspective for us the legal drunk limit here in Washington D.C. is .08 percent. That means if Amy would have tried to get behind the wheel of a car she would have been way over the limit at 4%. Just insane!
