Move over Barbara Walter’s there’s a new leading lady in town. Former First daughter Chelsea Clinton has just joined NBC news as a new correspondent.
NBC News announced Monday it has hired the former First Daughter as a correspondent on its evening news broadcast.
Steve Capus, president of NBC News, said Clinton, 31, will report on the “Making a Difference” series for “NBC Nightly News” with Brian Williams.
Capus told The New York Times that Clinton — who has a bachelor’s degree in history from Stanford University and a master’s in public health from Columbia’s Mailman School of Public Health — contacted the network through an intermediary in July.
“I hope telling stories through ‘Making a Difference’ — as in my academic work and nonprofit work — will help me to live my grandmother’s adage of ‘Life is not about what happens to you, but about what you do with what happens to you,’ ” Clinton said in a statement. [source]
