Blue Ivy Carter, who was born just a month ago is already worth more than Nicole Scherzinger’s entire music career. So in an effort to stop the infamous “black market” from making millions off their new-born baby’s name, the Carter’s are laying down the smack down. The proud parents have completed a legal application to trademark “Blue’s” name.
In the superstar industrial complex, trademarking your baby’s name is just smart business.
On Jan. 26, new parents Beyoncé and Jay-Z filed an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to protect the baby’s name — and reserve it for a future line of baby carriages, baby cosmetics, diaper bags and other undoubtedly fabulous accoutrements for the fashion-forward infant.
The application by BGK Trademark Holdings — Beyoncé’s company — is pending but is basically a done deal because parents are legally authorized to trademark the names of their minor children, experts say

I’m not the biggest fan of Beyonce or Jay-Z but I will say that was a smart azz move. Not that the Carter’s need any more money but hell why not add-on to the “Bey-Jay” empire they already built.
As for Blue Ivy, granted she’s just a baby but I hope she grows up to live up to all the hype that has been created & centered around her birth. It would be quite a shame if she grows up and ended up “crazy” in the head like some of these other famous celebrities children doing drugs, sex changes, porn and etc.
