The Queen Bee has once again managed to outdo your favorites (artists) without spending a gotd*amn thing! Not only is Beyonce the headline performer at the Super Bowl, but Ms. Carter is even getting a brand new whip out the deal! Oh yeah! Not to mention its all free of charge thanks to General Motors.
See, GM didn’t want to spend millions of dollars on TV commercial’s during the Super Bowl so they teamed up with the NFL & Beyonce. Now, Bey gets a car to take home during her performance and GM gets to advertise their new Corvette free! Now, that’s some boss sh*t!
In a creative compromise with the NFL, the Detroit maker (Chevy) plans to place its all-new 2014 Corvette on the 50-yard line during the halftime show and present it to this year’s celebrity performer Beyonce, sources tell TheDetroitBureau.
The plan is reportedly to place a hand-built, one-off C7 on the 50-yard line during the halftime show, then gift the car to the singer. It’s a shrewd marketing move. GM gets its time in front of Super Bowl viewers without officially changing its plan to avoid buying expensive ad time during the game. Product placement during sporting events is old hat to GM. The company has parked its vehicles on the field during Olympic opening ceremonies at least once before.
GM has confirmed, an all-new LT1 V-8 engine is expected to produce 450 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque – which would make it the most powerful “base” Corvette ever and the fastest, with 0 to 60 times expected to come in at under 4 seconds. That could get Beyonce out from the sidelines to midfield in record time. – The Detroit Bureau
Here is an artist rendering of the all new 2014 C7:
Pepsi announced Friday that 100 fans will introduce the Grammy-winning diva when she takes the stage Feb. 3 at New Orleans’ Mercedes-Benz Superdome. A contest that kicks off Saturday will allow fans to submit photos of themselves in various poses, including head bopping, feet tapping and hip shaking. Those pictures will be used in a TV ad to air ahead of Beyonce’s halftime performance, and 50 of those who submit photos – along with a friend – will be selected to introduce the singer.
Like the old saying goes, “The rich get richer and the poor get poorer”! It must be nice, I’m sure Beyonce can’t wait to get her non driving a** in the driver’s seat…..
