Congratulations are in order for Maryland’s Lt. Governor Anthony Brown who single handily worked hard to make the State of Maryland the 18th state in the United States to abolish the death penalty. Lt. Gov. Brown, who is also seeking to become the first black governor since Virginia’s Douglas Wilder, was honored at the NAACP 104th Convention Monday in Orlando, Florida.
During his acceptance speech he thanked his supporters, the state of Maryland, the NAACP, and even made some emotional comments on the Trayvon Martin case. Listen to his powerful speech after the jump.
I absolutely admire Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown, he has so many qualities of Pres. Obama. If it was not for this man, the death penalty who still exist in the state. He definitely has my vote for Governor!
